A new medical centre is adding three physicians to Thorold, with more to possibly come.
Last last year Thorold Family Medical Centre opened at 21 Front St. S., Unit 201.
The centre is now accepting new patients for two doctors on a team that includes Dr. Brian Siu, Dr. Andre Blanchard and Dr. Preston Zuliani, who all moved into the facility late last year.
Siu, a graduate of McGill University and McMaster University, is a resident of Fonthill.
Blanchard was born and raised in St. Catharines. He graduated from the McMaster University School of Medicine, Niagara campus, and completed his residency at Western University in London.
“We have room to add accommodate another three of four (physicians) and we’re planning on doing that, but we’ll not add anyone else until these two doctors are filled up (with new patients),” said Zuliani, a native of Thorold.
Zuliani is also an assistant professor in family practice at McMaster University and has taught medical students and residents in his office since 1991. He has been practising family medicine in Niagara for more than 40 years, most recently in St. Catharines.
“We’re practising a comprehensive-type level of care,” said Zuliani. “So we’re available every day of the week, both for booked patients and urgent patients. So people should be seen the same day, routinely.
“We also do house calls on our patients.”
The centre is open for regular hours 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday, with various after-hours clinics in the evening and on weekends. People can call 905-688-6460 for more information on new patient registration.
Chiropractic services are provided at the centre by Dr. Christopher Zuliani, whose office number is 905-688-2420.
Free parking is available in the municipal lot on Albert Street West by the fire hall.
Next Wednesday the centre will hold a grand opening from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., with local dignitaries to be part of a ribbon-cutting ceremony at noon.
