Pedestrian injured after being hit by car

A Welland woman has minor injuries after being hit by a vehicle while crossing the street on Tuesday.

The incident happened at 4:10 p.m. at the intersection of King and Lincoln streets in Welland. Niagara Regional Police say the 41-year-old woman was crossing at the crosswalk when a turning vehicle struck her. Police say a second vehicle rear-ended the first.

The injured woman was taken to local hospital for treatment.

A 62-year-old man from Welland has been charged with careless driving.
